Evesham Market Town Partnership

Evesham Town Council works in partnership with the Evesham Market Town Partnership (EMTP) on many prjects most notably in its drive to support and improve the local economy.  In 2013/14 the Town Council contributed £15,000 in funding to the EMTP, and it has committed to the same level in 2014/15.

EMTP is part of Wychavon District Council’s Local Strategic Partnership structure and as such supports the Worcestershire Single Sustainable Community Strategy.

EMTP uses the seven priorities identified in the Worcestershire Single Sustainable Community Strategy to steer the development its annual action plan. These are:

1.            Support and improve the local economy;

2.            Develop skills and life long learning;

3.            Reducing health inequalities and promoting healthy lifestyles;

4.            Supporting older people;

5.            Providing positive activities for young people;

6.            Supporting people to play an active role in their communities and take more responsibility for improving their lives; and

7.            Deliver housing that meets local needs.

EMTP members have determined that the partnership’s annual Action Plans will particularly focus on the “Supporting and improving the local economy” priority. EMTP works in partnership with Evesham Town Council, Wychavon District Council, Worcestershire County Council, The Vale of Evesham Commerce & Tourism Association (VECTA) and Retailers and Businesses across the Vale of Evesham to address many of the relevant issues. EMTP’s primary objective is to retain and attract inward investment to the Vale of Evesham and build confidence in the area’s future prosperity.

EMTP operates a web based ‘portal’ for events and activities across Evesham and the Vale at
